Diary of a Founder: Design Notes of La Crème
I wanted to jump in and take you through our newest collection, La Crème, launching in just a few days. We’ve designed four new gowns, our new favourite veil, and some seriously powerful accessories—and I couldn’t be more excited. This collection was crafted with intuition, passion, and skill—everything we stand for at Grace. These pieces were made to make you feel something. Because if a dress doesn’t move you... what’s it doing?
What makes La Crème so special is the level of craftsmanship poured into every detail. The hero of the collection? Our signature steel coil flexi boning—crafted into every single gown. It’s an innovative technique that gives you structure, without sacrificing movement, so you can dance, celebrate, and completely be yourself.
We specifically chose the coil boning because it offers support without the stiffness of traditional boning that can dig in or restrict. This isn’t your average structure. The coil is flattened with delicate rings that move and flex with your body from every angle while still being incredibly strong. We’ve finished each piece with curved tips (never raw-cut like other boning), protecting you, the garment, and the delicate fabrics we love working with.

DESCRIBE THE COLLECTION IN A FEW WORDS:
Sexy, Effortless, Timeless and Authentic.
WHERE DID YOU SHOOT THE COLLECTION?
We shot the campaign at the most beautiful AirBnB named Camellas Lloret, located just outside of Carcassonne in the south-west of France. We then shot our ecom imagery at my home on the Gold Coast, Australia.
TALK ABOUT WHAT MAKES THIS COLLECTION SO SPECIAL:
It’s authentic to us and what GLL women love: a healthy dose of trends like exposed boning, vintage corded laces, statement bows, capes, lace boleros, and removable details — but done in a way that will endure time and when the next trends come.
This collection is made to be your own — every accessory pairs back with every gown, so you can literally transform your look to be exactly what you want. Each dress also features our new boning, designed for structure and support, with 360-degree movement that flexes with your body. No digging in, no discomfort— just a pretty damn special design that moves with you.
WHAT DEFINES YOUR APPROACH TO BRIDAL DESIGN?
I think bridal — and our mission in design — is about the right mix of character, comfort, quality, authenticity and timelessness. Our design studio is in our Aussie HQ, where we lead sketching, developing, pattern-making, grading, and fitting — each style going through 6-10 fittings to get it just right. We invest a lot of time and value into quality and fit, with each step being led by experts in their field.
WHY DID YOU NAME THE COLLECTION LA CRÈME?
I have a lot of fun naming our dresses and collections, and La Crème was named for its nod to traditional vintage lace, our flexi boning in every gown (which is something special and the ultimate provision for support and comfort), and a puff sleeve cape that reminds me of a beautiful, fanciful puff pastry. We’ve always had a strong connection to European style, and for us, the key is for it to be effortless, authentic and timeless. It’s inimitable.
