Hans and Melissa in the Goldie Gown
Melissa and Hans' wedding was a celebration of love and tradition, from their ceremony in a historic church to the intimate dinner that followed.
A Forever Love
Though Hans and Melissa had known each other since they were 12, it wasn’t until high school that their childhood crush really blossomed. “I truly could not be more blessed and joyful to have found my person so early on,” says Melissa. Hans pushes Melissa to grow, to embrace life with gratitude, and not to take herself too seriously. “I’ve always heard you choose your husband, but your children don’t choose their father. I’ve taken that saying very seriously and can confidently say my husband is a man I am proud to love.”
Ana Maria Island in Florida had always been Melissa’s favourite spot—a sun-drenched slice of nostalgia just a few hours from home. She couldn’t wait to show Hans the place she loved, so he made it happen: a weekend getaway for just the two of them. Hans set the scene with flowers, their favourite photos, and a charcuterie spread while Melissa got ready for dinner. “He asked me to marry him; I said yes. We watched the sunset, missed our dinner reservation, and stayed until midnight dancing and gazing at the stars. It felt like a night straight out of a Nicholas Sparks movie,” Melissa shares.
A Traditional Church Wedding Where It All Began
The couple’s journey to ‘I do’ included a ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Miami, Florida, a place woven into the fabric of their history. “It's the church I’ve gone to since I was little. It’s where we went together. It was an obvious choice for us,” Melissa shares.
The day unfolded with quiet, special moments—the stillness before walking down the aisle, the warmth of family gathered, the significance of the mass, followed by an intimate dinner at LPM, their favourite restaurant. It was an evening of toasts, stolen glances, and the kind of joy that lingers long after the last course. “It was everything I could have imagined and more,” Melissa shares.
The Luxury of Goldie
From the moment Melissa put on Goldie, she knew it was ‘The One.’ “It was elegant, comfortable, and simple,” she says. “It was a dress I could look back on and still be in love with.” With her mum, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law by her side, the appointment became something more—sharing tears and the quiet certainty that this was it. “It had all the perfect details, and it matched my personality. I was emotionally attached to this dress.”
